photography, my approach is relaxed and kinetic, and
I strive to foster an atmosphere in which children are free to
express themselves. My
style blends flavors of photojournalism
and children's fashion photography with my own unique vision.
I don't insist on eye contact
for every shot, nor am I inclined to
employ hackneyed coercion techniques to extract fake "camera
faces" from my subjects. I believe that the best smiles are
those that happen naturally, and I like to capture the nuances
of my subjects' full range of natural expressions.
Babies
Newborn
sessions are best done within the first ten days of baby's life,
and baby portraits can be done any time. It should be noted that
my approach is specifically
not in the vein of the prop-centric baby photography commonly
featured in calendars, greeting cards and other novelties. No
disparagement is implied or intended; that just doesn't happen
to be my style as a photographer. If you want portraits of your
baby donning angel wings, sleeping atop the fireplace mantel,
propped on a stack of towels, tucked in a bird's nest, hatching
from an egg, peeking out of a gift box, popping out of a flower
pot, or with any other
props or setup in this distinctive stylized genre, then I recommend
seeking a different photographer whose style fits that niche.
